Chipped Berries continues to highlight some of my concerns around the feeling of
apprehension in areas of woodland and the level of control inflicted unwittingly
on my mind through cultural upbringing. The garlands, a symbol of wisdom, link with
the ancient mythology that connects women with woodland spaces. The chipped orange
berries of this garland add further confusion to the apparent ‘natural’ experience.
Images presented here formed part of a bigger installation project.. Light boxes with sizes varying from 8” square to 5’ x 4’ were situated in darkened booths, creating a walking environment with fluctuating light levels.
